Head of School

Jerri began serving as the Head of School for St. George's in May 2014. With over 35 years of experience and a Masters in Early Childhood Education, she serves as a leader in our field. She is the President for the Austin Chapter of Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, a Master Registered Trainer for the state of Texas, and owner of her business ECEToday. She also wrote a Scope and Sequence for ages 3 months-Kindergarten and Assessment Tools that accompany the Scope and Sequence. Through her years as an early childhood teacher, adjunct instructor, trainer, consultant, and administrator, Jerri strives to leave a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.

Educational Director - Infants/Toddlers

Ms. Gabi is an Austin native. She studied studio art at the University of Texas at Austin. She began her journey at St. George’s as a parent and fell in love with the school. She was excited to join the staff in March of 2019. She comes to us from a state-wide, social justice non-profit where she was the Operations Manager. She looks forward to be able to shift her focus to early childhood education, which is where her passion lies. In addition to her duties at St. George's, Ms. Gabi serves the greater Austin early childhood community as the Austin Chapter of TXAEYC Communication Chair. We are lucky to have Ms. Gabi join the St. George Community!

Educational Director -Preschool

Ms. Mari has 18+ years of early childhood experience and a Child Development Associates Degree. Her strengths include keeping a calm demeanor when times get stressful, developing deep and loving relationships with the children across the school and her colorful and creative classrooms! Mari is a native Austinite and has a lot of love for this community, especially it's sport teams!

Administrative Assistant

Ms. Shannon was born in the bay area in California but considers Austin home. In 2004, she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. She has 14 years of experience working in a school administrative office as the Director of Admissions. She has a passion for working in schools and is so excited to be a part of the St. George's community. She hopes to keep everything running smoothly for the staff, parents, and the children.

Red Room - Lead Teacher

Ms. Carla comes to Austin from Hattiesburg, MS. She joined St. George's in the fall of 2015 as an infant teacher. Carla quickly found her love for infants and toddlers and immediately began attending school at Austin Community College earning credits towards her CDA. Ms. Carla has 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education.

Red Room - Assistant Teacher

Ms. Angie has over 12 years of experience and a Bachelor degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. She's been part of the St. George's community since the Summer of 2014 and has flourished as one of our infant/toddler teachers.

Red Room - Assistant Teacher

Ms. Mary Jane is an Austin native with two boys of her own. She has over 10 years of experience in childcare and has her CDA from Austin Community College. She is a mentor with the Girl Scouts and loves being with children. Mary Jane joined the St. George's community in the fall of 2015.

Green Room - Lead Teacher

Ms. Cindy is the Lead Teacher in the Green Room. She is a native of Seguin, TX and came to Austin in 1986 to attend the University of Texas at Austin. She has spent close to 15 years of her professional career at St. George's and has taught in almost every classroom as well as assisting in administration. Both of Cindy's daughters attended St. George's for preschool and she has a true passion for our community.

Green Room- Assistant Teacher

Ms. Cathryn is a San Antonio native, who moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. She has a Bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development and has been working with young children for 5 years. She comes from a lineage of teachers and knew at an early age that teaching was her passion. Ms. Cathryn is dedicated, loving, and excited to join the community at St. George’s!

Purple Room - Lead Teacher

Ms. Christina is originally from Dallas, Texas. She moved to Austin to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with a focus on Early Childhood at the University of Texas at Austin. Her passion for working with children has led to a deeper connection when she started interning at the UT child development lab school. She has over 4 years of experience in early childhood working as a toddler and infant teacher, after school program instructor, babysitter, and as a sports coach. She is so excited to be a part of St. George’s community and cannot wait to apply her skills and knowledge that she has acquired over the years.

Purple Room - Assistant Teacher

I was born and raised in Austin TX. I joined the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps after graduating high school and I quickly found myself being a Drill commander. I worked as a babysitter, nanny and teacher assistant when I was off base for over 3 years. I quickly found out that teaching and helping kids reach their full potential was my passion.

Orange Room- Lead Teacher

Ms. Grace is the Assistant Teacher in the purple room. She has a BFA in playwriting, but her passion lies within early childhood education. She has eleven years of experience with 3 of those years focused on early childcare. She is excited to provide your children with a safe space to, learn, grow, and play!

Orange Room- Assistant Teacher

I grew up in Massachusetts and recently moved to Austin, TX. I have extensive experience working with children, and worked in after-school programs, as a behavioral therapist and as a preschool teacher. I am currently enrolled in a Master's Program for Early Childhood Education as well and will be able to use the knowledge I learn at St. Georges. I enjoy forming a strong bond with my students and their families and I have a passion for watching children learn and grow.

Yellow Room - Co-Lead Teacher

Ms. Carmel is the Co-Lead Teacher in the Yellow Room and has a degree in Child Development. Ms. Carmel has a true love for St. George's, with over 12 years of teaching here and two boys of her own who graduated Pre-K from St. G's!

Yellow Room Assistant Teacher

My name is Nubia Rivas and I was born and raised in Austin. I am currently attending school at UT Austin to earn my BSS degree in Early Childhood Education. Growing up my life revolved around music so in my free time I teach private lessons for Trombone and Piano. I also love to travel and garden. I'm excited to be a new member of the St. George's team, and I'm very excited to be a positive influence to everyone I meet here.

Blue Room - Lead Teacher

Ms. Jeanne has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Child & Family Studies. With close to 10 years of teaching experience she has spent time as both a lead and an assistant teacher. Being a teacher is Jeanne's life passion and is dedicated to the education of our little ones.

Ms. Gail is originally from Pennsylvania . She has over 25 years of experience in childcare and has her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology. Ms. Gail joined the St. George's community in the fall of 2016. Her favorite thing about working with children is seeing their excitement when they discover something new.

Rainbow Room - Lead Teacher

Ms. Melissa has been teaching for over 20 years in early childhood education. Ms. Melissa always wanted to teach, she enjoys helping children learn and grow. She loves exploring science experiments with children and watching their minds expand.

Rainbow Room - Co-lead Teacher

My name is Christina Schroeder. I moved to Austin in 2006 to attend the University of Texas. I earned a BS in Applied Human Learning EC-4 in 2009. While at UT I worked in their Child Development center along with interning at several local elementary schools. After graduating I began working at the JCC of Austin in their early childhood program for five years. Since then I have also spent time teaching at Child’s Day, Circle C Child Development Center, and Primrose. I am excited to be working at St. George's, because of the low ratios and how each child is individualized. I looking forward to spending the next year nurturing, loving, and educating your little one. My goal is to create an environment in which your little one feels safe, happy, and secure to be themselves.

Environmental Science Curriculum Specialist & Fun Zone Coordinator

I was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas, however, I went to school, lived and worked in Austin for four years. I have received my Bachelors in Political Science and Masters in Educational Leadership. I am currently working on my Doctorate of Educational Leadership at St. Edwards. I have worked with all age groups for the past four years, with an emphasis on experiential education. I am solution orientated and push for positive changes in education. I am passionate about positively impacting students' lives, shining the light of inspiration!

Motor Skills & Fine Arts Ancillary Teacher

Mai Wells is a native Texan who has been working with kids for over ten years! Mai has a degree in Sociology with a focus on childhood development and a degree in Women's and Gender Studies from UT Austin. In addition to experience as art teacher and curriculum developer Mai has worked as a creative director here in the US and abroad. Community, connectivity, kindness, and empowering the creative spirit are Mai's biggest passions.

Resource Coordinator

Ms. Rita has over 20 years of teaching experience. She's from Yorktown, TX and has been in Austin for over 10 years. Her passion is in early childhood and her strengths and skills include understanding & connecting with children of all ages & developing wonderful relationships with our families and teachers.

My name is Randall (Randy) C. Lopez and I’m originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Texas A&M University prior to moving to Austin, Texas for work and graduate school. After meeting some amazing individuals, I decided to stop my studies in the states to pursue graduate school abroad. On my adventures, I earned my MSc in Health Psychology from The University of Central Lancashire and both my MSc Counselling Studies and MSc Education (Research) degrees from The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Now, I am back in Austin exploring my passion for child development in watching children learn and grow. I have 3 years of experience working in preschool settings and it has been an adventure! Working with children has been a gift as it helps me see the world from their perspective and has also nurtured my own growth. I thoroughly enjoy educating young minds. I look forward to my journey here at St. George’s and can’t wait to see what is in store!

Ms. Katherine was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She is the oldest of 4 siblings. She helped her parents raise her siblings so she has always had a passion for kids. While living at home for the last year she took care of 1 year old twin boys. She also helped her younger sister during the pandemic as she had to do online learning. Katherine is a 2020 high school graduate of Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in San Antonio Texas. She enjoys spending time with children and watching them grow.

My name is Vicky Tran and I'm originally from Houston, Texas. I'm currently attending the University of Texas, majoring in Medical Lab Sciences. Although my degree plan is set on the STEM path, I have a passion for working with kids. I'm so excited to be a part of St. George's and have the opportunity to see children grow.
